Chana Dal ( split chick pea) Recipe
1 cup chana dal soaked for 5-6 hours
3/4 cup spring onions chopped
lemon juice as per taste
green chili 1 chopped
green coriander leaves chopped
2 tsp Ghee
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
pinch of asafoetida
1 tea spoon red chili powder
1 tea spoon coriander powder
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
1/4 garam masala
salt to taste
Recipe : Boil the soaked dal for 2-3 whistles with all the spices and salt.
Add water to the required consistency and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
Heat ghee in a tadka pan, add cumin seeds, when they crackle, add asafoetida, spring onions and green chili, cook for 3-4 minutes and pour the tadka on cooked dal.
Garnish with green coriander leaves, add lemon juice to taste and serve hot.
