Special Ghiya (gourd)
500 gm gourd
wheat flour as per requirement
1 big onion
5-6 cloves garlic
1 green chili
1/2 inch ginger
1 medium size tomato puree
2 tbsp refined oil
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
1 tea spoon coriander powder
1 tea spoon maggi masala
salt to taste
green coriander leaves for garnish
Many of us don t like to eat certain vegetables, which are good for health. My son is also one of them. So I am trying to make boring veggies tasty, so everybody would like to eat. today I am going to share my new experiment of gourd. I hope you all will like it.
Recipe : Grate some gourd (1/2 cup approx.) and add wheat flour,salt, pinch of red chili powder,pinch of turmeric powder and make a soft dough without using any water.
Make cylindrical long rolls of it.
Steam them in a steamer for 15 minutes.
let them cool.
cut them into pieces.
Now cut big pieces of rest of the gourd and pressure cook them for 1 whistle.
Let it cool.
make a smooth paste with the help of a blender.
Cut the onion into small pieces.
Make a paste of green chili,ginger and garlic.
Now heat oil in an non-stick pan.
Add cumin seeds, when they crackle, add asafoetida and onions, cook till they become pink, add ginger garlic paste, cook till the mixture leaves oil, add all the spices, salt and cook for 2 minutes, add the steamed pieces and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes,finally add the gourd paste and cook for 5 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati of parantha.
It is very delicious and everyone will like it.
