Lauki halwa is a traditional Indian sweet recipe, tastes good just like gajar ka halwa tastes good. Recipe is also same.
1/2 Kg Ghiya (bottle gourd)
1/2 lite Gold milk with cream
1/4 cardamom powder
sugar or sugar free as per taste
3 tbsp cow ghee
Recipe : Peel and cut the bottle gourd horizontally, remove the seeds and soft part. Then grate it.
Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add the grated bottle gourd and cook stirring for 6-7 minutes.
Add milk and cardamom powder.
Cook on medium flame stirring occasionally, till the milk turns thick.
Add sugar or sugar free as per taste and cook till the Halwa leaves ghee.
Garnish with pastiche and serve hot or cold.
Most of the children don t eat bottle gourd and many other vegetables, so I try to make those vegetables tasty, so that everybody gets the benefits of vegetables.
If used sugar free, this Halwa becomes very healthy.
