This is a very delicious dal recipe, prepared in ghee, it is easy to digest, so you can include it in your dinner recipe. I have added little sugar which gives this dal a unique taste, you can skip sugar if you don t like.
Add cumin seeds, when they crackle, add bay leaves and asafoetida, then add onions and sugar and sauté for 4-5 minutes.
Add tomatoes and all the spices and sauté for 6-7 minutes, add soaked dal and mix well.
Add salt to taste and 3 cups water and cook for 2-3 whistles.
Tasty Masoor dal is ready.
Serve hot with rice.
