This chutney is specially for skin allergic people, who can eat tamarind. Tastes like tamarind chutney, without tamarind.
1/2 cup raisins (kismis) (yellow)
1/4 cup jaggery grated
4 black pepper
1/2 tea spoon roasted cumin
1/2 inch dry ginger
salt to taste
Recipe : Soak raisins in hot water for 1/2 an hour.
Grind cumin, black pepper, dry ginger and clove to a fine powder.
Now add soaked raisins, jaggery, salt to taste and dry masala in a blender and blend it to a smooth paste, add little water.
Tasty sweet chutney is ready for chaats.
Because, I have not used tamarind, people with skin allergy, who can t eat tamarind chutney can also enjoy it.
