Semolina idly, made with carrot, cabbage, green peas, capsicum and mustard tadka, a very healthy and nutritious breakfast for all age groups.
300 gm semolina
300 ml butter milk
½ cup cabbage grated
½ cup carrot chopped
½ cup peas
¼ cup capsicum chopped
Salt to taste
1 tbsp refined oil
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
½ sachet Eno
Recipe : Mix semolina and butter milk and keep for half an hour.
Add salt to taste, turmeric powder, all the veggies and make a fine batter.
Heat oil in a tadka pan, add mustard seeds and pour the tadka into the batter and mix well.
Now add Eno, pour some water on Eno and mix well.
Grease the idly stand, pour the batter carefully in all scoops. Steam the idly in a steamer for approx. 10 minutes.
Let them cool, then remove from the idly stand and serve with coconut chutney.
