White Lobia Dahi bada is innovative recipe of Dahi bada. Generally, we prepare Dahi bada from white lentil, but I have used white Lobia also, which makes the bada soft and yummy. When we prepare bada with only white lentil, they become hard sometimes. But these bada are soft and yummy and lobia is good for digestion also .
¾ cup Lobia
½ cup white lentil
Refined oil for deep fry ( as per requirement )
Whipped curd ( as per requirement )
½ tea spoon red chilly powder
Salt to taste
1 tea spoon cumin powder
Pomegranate for garnish
Green chutney ½ cup
Tamarind chutney 1 cup
Soak Lobia and white lentils separately overnight.
In the morning, grind them separately using little water to a smooth paste.
Mix them and keep it for 2-3 hours. Add salt to taste to the batter and mix well.
Heat oil in a pan, make bada of the batter of shape of your choice and deep fry them on a low flame till golden in color. Immediately dip them into salted water.
Let them remain in water till next round of bada is ready. Gently squeeze the water and keep them in a bowl.
Prepare all the bada in same way.
Now place the bada in a plate, pour whipped and chilled curd, add little green chutney, pour tamarind chutney, sprinkle, cumin powder, salt to taste and red chilly powder ( you can sprinkle chat masala also ) garnish with pomegranate and serve immediately.
Healthy and tasty dahi bada are ready.
