Sabudana khichdi is a famous snack for fasting. But it is so yummy, that we eat it in normal routine also. the khichdi tastes good, if the sabudana raise properly without being sticky. We need to use good quality sabudana and not to soak it in water. Just wash it and leave it overnight. It will rise well in the morning.
1 green chilly
1/2 tea spoon black pepper coarsely grinded
rock salt to taste
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 tbsp refined oil
1 tbsp pea nuts
Recipe : Wash sabudana in a flat surface bowl, cover it and keep it overnight.
It will rise in the morning.
Roast the pea nuts in a pan without oil for 2-3 minutes, let it cool, then remove the skin.
Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, when they crackle, add green chilly and pea nuts, saute for 2-3 minutes. Add sabudana, black pepper and rock salt to taste and saute for 3-4 minutes and turn off the gas.
Can be used as phalahar in fast.
