1 cup spring onions cut into small pieces
2 green chilly finely chopped
Green coriander leaves for garnish
½ tea spoon red chilly powder
½ tea spoon turmeric powder
2 tbsp cow ghee
Salt to taste
1 lemon juice
½ tea spoon cumin seeds
Pinch of Asafoetida
Ingredients for pakwan :
2 cup all purpose flour ( maida )
3 tbsp cow ghee or refined oil ( ghee preferred )
1 tea spoon celery seeds
Salt to taste
Refined oil for deep fry ( as per requirement )
Water as per requirement

Recipe :

Soak the dal for 4-5 hours in water.
After 5 hours, add red chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste and cook it for 1 whistle. Let it cool.
Meanwhile, add salt , celery seeds and 3 tbsp ghee to maida mix well with hands and knead a hard dough using water.
Cover it with a wet cloth and keep aside for half an hour.
After half an hour, knead it again, make small balls and roll them with the help of a rolling pin like chapatti.
Prick the surface with fork or knife.
Heat ghee or oil in a pan.
Deep fry the pakwan on low flame till crispy and light brown in color.
Prepare all the pakwan in same manner.
Open the pressure cooker and add some water if the dal seems thick and boil it on medium flame for 10 minutes and turn off the gas.
Heat 2 tbsp cow ghee in a tadka pan, add cumin seeds, when they crackle, add asafoetida, green chilli and spring onions and sauté for 2 minutes.
Pour the tadka on cooked dal. Garnish with green coriander leaves, add some lemon juice and serve hot with pakwan.
