Sharing today Bharwa Tinda recipe in my style.Tinda is not an all time favorite vegetable. Only some people like it. Today, sharing a recipe of stuffed tinda in my style.I have added Dal in the stuffing, and made the gravy very yummy. Just take care that Tinda are raw, otherwise it will spoil the dish. I hope you will like it. So let us begin.
250 gm small raw tinda
2 red ripe salad tomatoes
1 big white onion
1 green chili
2 garlic cloves
1 tbsp yellow mung lentil
2 tbsp refined oil
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 tea spoon red chili powder
1 tea spoon cumin coriander powder
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
1/4 tea spoon garam masala
1/2 tea spoon corn flour
salt to taste
Peel the tinda, make a hole at center and remove the soft pulp of tinda.
Soak yellow lentil in water for an hour.
Grind green chili, garlic cloves and white onion to a smooth paste.
Make puree of tomatoes.
Add some salt to soaked yellow lentils and mix well.
Fill these lentils in tinda basket. Steam this tinda for 10 minutes in a steamer.
Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds.
When they crackle, add onion paste and cook till it leaves oil.
Add all the spices, mix well. Add tomato puree and cook till it leaves edges of the pan.
Mix corn flour in 2 tea spoon water and add it to the mixture.
Mix well and add 1 cup water and cook for 5 minutes.
Add the steamed tinda carefully and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Tasty Bharwa tinda is ready.
Serve hot with chapati, paratha or puri.
