Methi dana sabji

 Methi dana sabji is a very healthy vegetable. Methi dana ( Fenugreek ) is a miracle seed, which is helpful in removing stomach problems like inflammation, constipation,loss of appetite.

Not only this but is highly effective in curing diabetes, arthritis, controls blood sugar level. It also helps  to add your beauty, because it has anti-aging effects, cures acne,moisturizes skin, fight dandruff, prevent premature graying of hair, hair loss and helps in weight loss.

Then why not take advantage of it and eat it at least once a week. Most of the people don’t like it because of its bitter taste.

Don’t worry, I am sharing two recipes of methi dana ki sabji, which is not bitter in taste at all, and you will love the taste of this sabji. Let us start.

Ingredients for Recipe 1 :

1/2 cup methi dana
1 medium onion
1 medium tomato
1/2 green chili
2 tbsp mustard oil
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
1 tea spoon roasted cumin coriander powder
1/4 tea spoon dry mint powder
1/2 tea spoon Maggie masala
salt to taste.

Recipe :

Clean and soak methi dana overnight in water.
In the morning, boil it for 5 minutes, cover a lid and keep for 5 minutes.
Wash it in plain water 2-3 times and strain the water.
Chop the onions, green chili and tomatoes finely.
Heat 2 tbsp mustard oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds.
When they crackle, add onions, saute, add green chili and saute till onions get translucent.
Add tomatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Add all the spices along with salt to taste and mix well.
Add the boiled methi dana and cook without lid for 2-3 minutes.
Tasty and spicy methi dana ki sabji is ready to serve.

 

Methi dana sabji

Ingredients for Recipe 2 :

1/2 cup methi dana
2 cup milk
handful of raisins
1 big white onion
1/2 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
1 tea spoon roasted cumin coriander powder
1/2 tea spoon garam masala
salt to taste
2 tbsp refined oil
1/2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1/2 tea spoon corn flour mixed in 2 tea spoon water.

Recipe :

Clean and soak methi dana in milk overnight.
Wash and soak the raisins also in 1 cup water overnight.
In the morning, wash it with water and remove the milk.
Boil it along with white onion for 5 minutes,  and keep aside covering a lid.
Strain the water. Blend the raisins to a smooth puree.
Blend the onion also to a smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds.
When they crackle, add onion paste and cook till it leaves oil.
Add all the spices along with salt to taste and mix well.
Pour the raisins paste and cook for 2 minutes, add corn flour mixture and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add the boiled methi dana and cook for 2 minutes and tasty sweet & sour methi dana curry is ready.
Kids will also love to eat this.
