Strawberry Sandesh recipe
Today, I am sharing recipe of Strawberry Sandesh. Bengali sweets are very delicious in taste. They are not only good in taste but healthy also. Sandesh is a very Famous Bengali sweet. I have made strawberry flavored Sandesh by using strawberry syrup. But you can also use Rooh Afza and make rose flavor Sandesh. I tasted Sandesh during my childhood in my neighbor’s house, a very sweet Bengali family and it became my favorite sweet since then. Sandesh is made from curdled milk. It needs to be mashed properly and normally people heat it on low flame to remove the moisture formed by adding sugar. But the problem is, if it gets overcooked the dish gets spoiled. I had that bad experience, so tried to make it without cooking and the result was very good. So, let us start making Strawberry Sandesh.
Recipe cuisine – Indian
Recipe category – sweet
Preparation time – 30 minutes
Servings – 3 Sandesh
1 lit re milk
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
2 tbsp Hershey’s strawberry syrup
Powdered sugar to taste
candy or tutti frutti for garnish
Mix 2 tbsp Strawberry syrup or rooh Afza to the milk and stir properly.
Boil the milk in a vessel. When it comes to boil, low down the flame. Add lemon juice and stir till the milk curdles.
Turn off the gas. spread a muslin cloth in a strainer and pour the curdled milk in it.
Now wash it with normal water for 2-3 times properly, so that all the lemon juice is removed.
Squeeze the muslin cloth, so that all the water gets separated.
Take the cottage cheese in a bowl, add cardamom powder and knead it for 6-7 minutes.
Mix sugar to taste and knead it again till the dough becomes smooth.
After this step, if you wish you can cook it on low flame to remove the moisture of sugar.
But my suggestion is, place the dough again in the muslin cloth and squeeze it properly to remove all the moisture.
Knead it agian for 2-3 minutes and make Sandesh in shape of your choice.
Garnish with candy or tutti frutti or dry fruits.
Refrigerate for an hour. Delicious Sandesh is ready to serve.
Best sweet dish for kids, who don’t drink milk.
