Palak Matar Paneer

Palak Paneer is very famous and healthy dish. I have also added Green Peas to it. Palak and peas are good source of vitamins, iron, good for skin, hair, bones, eye sight. Paneer is also good source of Folate and Protien. Overall this vegetable is very good for health. Actually we should cook it without boiling, if we want to get maximum benefits out of it, but without boiling, it tastes little bitter, so everyone is not likely to eat, specially kids. If you want to go for healthy, you can make puree of Palak without boiling also. I have tried to make it tasty by boiling so everyone can enjoy it.

Ingredients :
500 gm Palak ( Spinach)
1 cup green peas
1/1/2 cup Paneer (cottage cheese) cubes
1 medium onion finely chopped
1tsp refined oil
1 tea spoon red chili powder
1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder
1 tea spoon Maggi masala
1 /2 tea spoon cumin seeds
1 cup tomato puree
salt to taste
Recipe : Clean the palak and wash it 3-4 times.  
Boil the palak for 5 minutes. 
Let it cool. 
Make a smooth paste in blender or mixer. 
Heat the oil in a pan. 
Add cumin seeds, when they crackle add chopped onions and cook till pink in color. 
Add all the spices and mix, add tomato puree and mix well and cook till the oil gets separated from the puree. 
Add the palak puree and green peas. 
Cook till the peas are soft, add paneer and cook for 3-4 minutes. 
Serve hot with chapatis or paranthas.
