Indian style Manchurian
Chinese Manchurian consist of soy sauce, vinegar, which I find very unhealthy, so tried this Indian style Manchurian. I hope you will like it. Let us start. If you have any questions or comments, please put them in the comment box on my Blog.



Ingredients for Manchurian :
4 tbsp chickpea gram flour
1 tbsp carrot cut into small pieces
2 tbsp cabbage cut into small pieces
1 tbsp spring onions cut into small pieces
1 tbsp capsicum cut into small pieces
1 tbsp green coriander leaves chopped
½ tea spoon red chilly powder
¼ tea spoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Refined oil for deep fry
Ingredients for gravy :
1 tea spoon tamarind
2 tea spoon jaggery
1 tbsp spring onions chopped
2-3 garlic cloves finely chopped
½ inch ginger grated
¼ tea spoon red chilly powder
½ tea spoon garam masala
1 tea spoon sugar
1 tbsp corn flour
1 tbsp refined oil

Recipe : Soak tamarind and jaggery in 1 cup water overnight. In the morning, boil it for 5 minutes, let it cool.
Mash it and sieve it with the help of a strainer. 
Add red chilly powder, garam masala and salt to taste. 
Keep aside. 
Mix corn flour in 2 tbsp water and mix well. 
Mix gram flour, all the vegetables, green coriander, salt to taste and spices for Manchurian in a bowl, add water and make a thick batter ( like Pakora ). 
Keep it for ½ hour. Heat oil in a pan. 
Make pakora of the batter and deep fry them on low flame till golden brown. 
Keep them on a tissue, so that extra oil is absorbed.
Now heat 1 tbsp refined oil in a no-stick pan, add garlic and ginger, sauté, add spring onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes. 
Add tamarind mixture and stir for 2-3 minutes, stir the corn flour mixture and add slowly stirring to avoid lumps.
Add 1 cup water and cook till it becomes thick, add the pakora and cook for 2 minutes. 
Serve hot with fried rice.
