Dhokla Sandwich is my innovative recipe. Innovation in food recipes is my passion. I always try to give unique recipes that are simple, delicious and healthy. Dhokla is a popular Gujarati dish. There are so many different Dhokla and Dhokla sandwich recipes on internet. So, I tried a different one and it came out very good. It just looks like Bread Sandwich but I have not used Bread at all. I have used Dhokla instead. Totally healthy snack fully loaded with vegetables. Great Lunch box recipe for kids.So, let us start.
2 cup semolina
3 cup butter milk
1 sachet Eno
1 big tomato
1 big white onion
salt to taste
2 tbsp green chutney
1 tbsp red chutney
Tomato ketchup as per requirement
Aloo bhujiya for garnish
Chaat masala ( optional)
Take 2 cups semolina in a bowl, add 3 cups butter milk to make a fine Dhokla batter.
Rest for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile cut the onion, tomato and cucumber in round slices.
Prepare Green and Red Chutney.
I will give the link of chutney at the end of recipe.
Grease the Dhokla Mold.
Add 3 to 4 cups water in a steamer and heat it on a high flame.
Add 1 sachet Eno to the batter, Eno powder and whisk in one direction for 1 to 2 minutes.
Pour the batter to the Dhokla Mold, take care we require thin Dhokla for Sandwich, so pour only half inch approx. of batter in each mold.
Place the molds in the steamer and steam it for 8 minutes.
Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
De mold the dhokla and cut both the dhokla in square shape as shown in the picture.
The left over can be used as fried snack.
Now turn the Dhokla upside down, so you will get a smooth level.
Apply Green chutney on one slice of dhokla.
Place the vegetables slices evenly on it.
Apply Red chutney on other slice of dhokla.
Cover it with the Red chutney slice.
Spread tomato ketchup as per taste and garnish with Aloo bhujiya.
Mouth watering Dhokla Sandwich is ready to serve.
