Instant Rava Appe is a delicious South Indian dish made with semolina and veggies. It is a quick and easy to make breakfast recipe.
Appe is also known as Paniyaram in South. typically, Paniyaram recipe is made with leftover idly/dosa batter but this recipe is instant version made with semolina.
It is a popular south Indian breakfast. Only you require is a Appe maker, which is easily available in the market or you can order it online also.
Prepared Instant Rava Appe in my style for the first time and it came out very good.
My family enjoyed it a lot and I was happy because it takes few minutes to prepare this breakfast if you have made the preparation in advance.
Can be served with chutney or tomato ketchup, tastes good without any chutney also.
So, let us start the recipe.

Servings -2-3

 

Recipe Ingredients:

1 cup semolina
3/4 cup fresh curd
1 tbsp green peas
1 green chili/ 1/2 capsicum finely chopped
1 medium onion
some cilantro leaves washed and chopped
4-5 curry leaves washed and chopped
3/4 tbsp refined oil
salt to taste
1/3 Eno sachet
1/2 cup water approx.
pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tea spoon mustard seeds 

Recipe instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup semolina and 3/4 cup curd and mix well.
Add salt to taste and 1/2 cup water and make a thick flowing idly like batter and rest for 10-15 minutes.
Meanwhile, chop the green chilli and onion finely.
Chop the green peas in a chopper.
Heat 3/4 tbsp refined oil in a tadka pan.
Add mustard seeds, when they splutter, add pinch of asafoetida and chopped curry leaves.
Now add chopped onions and green chili and saute for 2 minutes.
Finally add the chopped green peas and saute for a minute and turn off the gas.

Pour the tempering over the batter, add chopped cilantro and mix well.
Add some more water if you find the batter thick.
Add few drops of refined oil in the Appe molds and heat it on low flame for 2 minutes.
Add 1/3 Eno sachet to the batter and mix in one direction gently.
Pour the batter in the Appe molds, cover the lid and cook for 3-4 minutes.
When the Appe turn golden crispy, flip them and cook for more 3-4 minutes.
Delicious Instant Rava Appe breakfast is ready to serve.
Serve with chutney, tomato ketchup or tastes good without anything.
