Curd Macaroni Recipe is my new experiment with food. Sounds interesting ? A very short and sweet yummy recipe. Can be prepared for evening snack or Breakfast. Use fresh curd for best result and add salt while serving to prevent the curd from turning sour.
Totally Indian flavor recipe, so every body will love it. You can also serve it chilled if you wish. Just refrigerate for an hour and then serve.
Not much ingredients are required for this recipe, can be made with ingredients available at home.
Perfect recipe for Summer, when you don,t feel like eating anything.
So, let us start the recipe.
1 cup Macaroni
1 cup Fresh curd
1 glass water
1/2 tbsp refined oil
1 green chilli/Capsicum
4-5 curry leaves
some fresh cilantro
1 medium onion
1/4 tea spoon mustard seeds
pinch of asafoetida
1/2 tea spoon red chili powder
1/4 tea spoon turmeric powder
salt to taste
Boil 1 glass water, add Macaroni and cook on medium flame for 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally.
Turn off the gas and cove a lid. leave it for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile chop the onion, green chills and cilantro finely.
Spread a cloth in a strainer and pour the curd in it, so extra water is removed and we get thick curd.
Now strain the water of Macaroni.
Heat 1/2 tbsp refined oil in a pan.
Add Mustard seeds, when they splutter, add pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves then onion and green chili.
Saute till the onions turn pink.
Add all the spices and boiled Macaroni.
Mix well, cook for 2 minutes and turn off the gas.
Let it cool completely. Add the whipped curd and mix well.
Garnish with cilantro, add salt to taste and serve. You can also refrigerate it and serve chilled during winters.
If you are preparing this dish for kids, use capsicum instead of green chills.
If you are a curd lover, you can add 1/2 cup more curd to this dish.
